“Remember Your Why,” should be a mantra in business as well as in everyday life. Finding and knowing your why keeps you from wandering through life; it gives direction and meaning to your day. By revisiting the reason you started on a particular path you develop a mindset that keeps you moving forward. It gives you the staying power necessary to reaching your goals and dreams. Keeping your why in front of you is like having a cheering crowd nearby that encourages you to push on and do the thing you set out to accomplish.
It keeps you true to your vision and purpose
Vision and purpose are the cornerstones of business and life; your why puts those cornerstones solidly in place. Knowing your why not only helps you look ahead, it also helps keeps you determined to take action each day. Additionally, it helps you build with a plan in mind and answers the questions on whether or not each action you take matters. Not only that, it also gets you up in the morning, gets you out the door, and into the world to get things done. I you remember your why it keeps you true to your vision and purpose and indicates how well you are doing at fulfilling them.
Remember Your Why keeps you on course
Similar to the mile markers along a marathon runner’s course; your why acts as guideposts to keep you on track and provides checkpoints along the way. It keeps you from drifting off course. Reviewing your progress at specific intervals throughout the week or month means course corrections might be more easily made if needed. Having the concrete knowledge of why you are doing what you are doing assists you in making good decisions. Good decisions result in fewer delay times. Fewer delay times means greater success in reaching your destination on schedule. In essence it makes you a good runner.
